SquashBusters

SquashBusters Lawrence is an 18000 square foot athletic and academic facility dedicated to serving youth through a unique integration of sport and education. Located on a shared urban site that also includes 80 units of housing and significant landscaped open space, the project contributes to a broader effort to activate and enrich the local community.

The facility program includes eight regulation squash courts, a state of the art fitness center, three classrooms, administrative offices, and full locker room amenities. A planted green roof contributes to stormwater management and enhances the site’s ecological performance while providing visual connection from surrounding housing.

Designed for SquashBusters, a nonprofit organization that leverages squash as a tool for academic achievement and college access, the building serves as both an athletic hub and a learning center. Interior planning prioritizes clear circulation, natural light, and acoustic separation between uses to support the dual nature of the program.
