Market and Main

Market and Main is a 200,000 square foot ground up mixed use retail development located in Bedford, New Hampshire. The project comprises seven separate buildings organized around a pedestrian oriented site plan that emphasizes placemaking, walkability, and human scale design.

Program elements include a mix of national and local retail tenants, food and beverage establishments, and hospitality accommodations. Buildings are arranged to define a series of interconnected public spaces, with wide sidewalks, outdoor seating areas, and activated frontages that encourage social interaction and year round use.

Architectural massing, material selection, and façade articulation were carefully developed to break down the overall scale and reinforce a cohesive, village like character. Vertical organization of uses across multiple levels allows for efficient land use while supporting a variety of tenant types.

Stack provided architectural design services for the project, supporting both master planning and building-level design to deliver a coordinated, high performance retail environment.
